In 2007, the Southeastern was sold and became part of BAR Education, Inc. The following year, Southeastern opened a branch campus in Nashville, Tennessee. Southeastern Institute - Nashville was accredited in 2008 by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges and offers a paramedic diploma program. Prerequisites to admission into the paramedic program include possessing an EMT-Basic/IV license, passing a 10-panel drug screen and a background check, having health insurance and passing an EMT Knowledge Exam administered by the institute with a minimum score of 80 percent and receiving a vorable assessments on the Minnesota Multiple Personality Index (MMPI) test, which provides a psychological profile score of the applicant. Financial aid is available to qualified students.

Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) was accredited in 1968 by the Commission on Higher Education, Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. AACC offers three EMT levels: EMT-Basic, EMT-Intermediate and EMT-Paramedic. The EMT programs meet the National Department of Transportation curriculum standards. Students completing 54 credit hours receive a college certificate and are eligible to sit for the national and state EMT-Paramedic exams. AACC also offers an EMT-Paramedic Associate of Applied Science degree program, which requires the completion of 70 credit hours of coursework. AACCs paramedic programs are nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs for the EMS professions. Financial aid available to qualified students includes scholarships, grants, loans, work programs and veterans benefits.
